COMFORTS

Brighton 4-piece Comforts return with the shimmering new single ‘Pink’. Produced by & Mixed by Alexander Gordon (Sundara Karma, Blood Red Shoes, Tiger Cub, The Cure, Rag ’n’ Boneman, Sea Power, Noisy) Comforts once again demonstrate the impactful yet warming Indie-Rock exploits that have seen them gain airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music and placements on Apple Music’s ‘New In Rock’.

Opening with airy, blue sky reverb drenched chords that underpin a fingerpicked guitar line, Comforts quickly introduce the melancholic, yet immediate and effortlessly catchy vocals that are present across their material. Chilled and understated as the track gradually builds, ‘Pink’ soon bursts into its vibrant chorus as bouncing bass, tight drums and a wash of perfectly placed vocal harmonies enter before gliding flawlessly into a mega, fuzz tinted guitar riff.

Speaking about the meaning behind the single, the band explain: Pink was written for the morning after. Sometimes, things are just best left unsaid. I think a lot of people have been in a conversation where they said something they regret. We all know it’s easy to get lost in the moment and you wish you’d have bitten your tongue. It’s like that old saying goes… don’t bite your nose to spite your face.

Sighting both 90s Brit-Pop and early 00’s indie among their influences, Comforts manage to capture a warming sense of formiliarity whilst still retaining a fresh and exciting edge. Having already gained a whole host of BBC Radio plays including from Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Introducing, the band has made a name for themselves as an exciting live act having played already played support for a number of breakout bands including Orchards & Avalanche Party among others. Now back with more new material, the band are set for a big year.
